How do I choose the add-on Items I purchased through Kickstarter? It's trying to charge me again.

When you click on your link to go to the survey, after you pick your main items, there should be a tab at the top that says ‘add-ons’ where you choose your options for add-on items you paid for through Kickstarter itself (then it will add those into your cart showing a cost but also the credit you already paid).

If you bypass that tab and go straight to the checkout store and try to add items there then you will be charged as extra items, so make sure you are adding Kickstarter add-ons you already paid for through the survey tabs before going to the full checkout shop at the end.

If you’re still having trouble then please contact us and we can help. You won’t get charged again for items you already paid for, and apologies for any confusion!

When will my items ship?

We are on track with the Kickstarter shipping estimated dates, and will keep in touch via project updates.

If you ordered only stickers and nothing else those should ship out in December 2021.

If you ordered anything else, we estimate shipping around May 2022. We will be in touch via updates about how the manufacturing process is coming along and any potential delays, but are currently on track for on-time delivery.

Add-ons and pre-order store items will ship at the same time as Kickstarter rewards.

Will the pins come on backing cards?

No. The pins are so big the backing cards would have to be huge, basically postcard sized, and would increase the cost of production and shipping for everyone pretty prohibitively. Many people just throw backing cards away, as well, generating a lot of waste we’d like to avoid.

Can I substitute out pins from the sets?

No, because of the scale of this project and wanting to be sure that every order gets out exactly right, we cannot offer substitutions on the tiers that come with an established set.

If I choose 2 (or 3, 4, and number) of pins for my pledge can I pick more than one of the same pin as my choices?

Yes! If you choose anything not a defined set in the tier, you can choose any of the unlocked project pins, including all or multiples of the same design if you prefer.

The pin sets do not allow for substitutions in the set itself, but any add-on pins at these levels or any other can be whatever pins of your choice.

Can I choose pins from the previous campaign for my multiple pin tiers?

The offerings here are for the current project only, but all Kickstarter backers will get access to an add-on shop (which lets you pick from a wider variety of items with combined shipping) which will offer all of last year’s pins, pendants, and earrings at a discount, so if there are any you are missing or want more of you’ll have that chance to add them after this campaign closes!

How do I choose my pins?

When the project ends you will get an email with a survey which will ask for your pin choices, you will be able to choose all your pins/stickers there. You don’t have to let me know about your choices right now, they will be collected all at once when the project is funded.

How do I pick what pins I want? I didn't see a place for that.

When the campaign / funding closes on Nov. 4th then your card will be charged for your pledge. Soon after (it takes about 2 weeks for me to get the final data from Kickstarter), I will send out a survey via email and there you get to pick which pins or items you want! That way you get a choice from anything that gets unlocked/becomes available all in one place at the end of the project.

I have already pledged, but I want to add another item (pin/pendant/prints/etc) to my order. How can I do that?

To add an additional item to an existing pledge, you go to: 1. ‘Manage your pledge’ at the top of our page 2. ‘Change your pledge’ near the bottom of the screen 3. Confirm your selection (press the green pledge button) 4. That will take you to the add-on page. There you can add whatever items you want from the list which will let you add more to your pledge.

If the Earrings/Necklaces get unlocked can I substitute those instead of a pin?

No. The Earrings and Necklaces will have their own price (they are more expensive than the pins due to having to be a smaller run of specially sized/created items and having quality jewelry findings - the earring hooks will be 14kt gold filled, for example). They will only be available as additional add-on purchase options at the end of the campaign if people are interested in them, they cannot be swapped out instead of a pin.

I'm new to Kickstarter. What is going on here?

Kickstarter is a ‘crowdfunding’ site - a place that allows artists and creative people to pre-sell items that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to purchase up front. In case of a large set of detailed custom pins like ours, they need to be ordered in large quantities since a metal mold has to be made and many items created all at once, costing 10s of 1000s of dollars. Kickstarter lets us figure out what people want in advance and order pins to fill those orders - so we offer a nice discount off the normal retail price per pin ($25-30 each).
When you purchase something from us on Kickstarter (using the ‘Back this project’ button, or choosing a tier in the ‘rewards’ campaign tab or on the right side scrolling, you are agreeing to buy an item (or items) and we will make them, update you about their progress (via email), and mail them when they are finished, along with some thank you freebies for your patience and support. You’re basically an earlybird and patron of the arts, allowing for creative work to be made by being an early funder, and getting some special perks and discounts from us in return.

What is your policy on lost/stolen/damaged packages?

Please understand we do everything we can to make sure your package gets to you, but once it leaves us and we have sent you the tracking information, it is out of our hands. If you are worried about potential postal issues please contact us before ordering to discuss extra insurance or having the package marked to be held at your local post office for pickup.

Shipping Insurance is available upon request (please contact us before placing your order if you would like extra insurance or special delivery instructions such as hold at post office for pickup). Purchases are not insured beyond standard default USPS coverage unless requested by buyer before purchase (there is a small additional cost for this service). Insurance is offered through the shipping company and claims must be processed through them.

Tracking / delivery confirmation of your package will be sent (please check your spam folder for an email from foxfeather@foxloft.com if you have not received the tracking number within a few days of your order being charged/processed). We are not responsible for delivery errors on the part of USPS or the shipping company. Claims for damaged, mis-delivered, undelivered, or potentially stolen packages (with our provided proof of shipping and/or delivery through tracking/delivery confirmation) have to be made directly to your local post office or shipping center on the rare occasion that this happens.

Where is the Barn Owl of Bearded Vulture? Why didn't you include these?

In our pin project last year we featured both the barn owl and bearded vulture, last year’s pins can be currently seen at: https://vultures.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders The barn owl is sold out at the moment, but we will be making a new batch of those which will be available to Kickstarter backers through the optional add-on shop which will open at the end of this project. So if you’re looking to add either of those (or other pins from last year) you will have that opportunity later on.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
